Ikelite 200DL Underwater Housing for Sony a9 III

This waterproof Ikelite underwater housing ( # 71482 ) for the Sony a9 III is durable and offers a wide range of features. It can be used at depths of up to 60 meters, making it ideal for underwater photography and video recording during diving, snorkeling, surfing, pool activities, and other water activities.

You can connect external strobes directly (manual trigger), and with an optional DS-link, you can add advanced features like TTL exposure. Magnifying viewfinders are also available, should you find them useful.

Transparent, sturdy, and lightweight underwater housing

The back of the housing is transparent, allowing you to clearly see the camera and the O-ring seal, making inspection and maintenance easier. The design ensures that the rear O-ring remains securely in place, increasing reliability. Once the housing is sealed, you can easily verify that the O-ring forms a proper, watertight closure. Ikelite recommends using a vacuum pump with a pressure gauge to test the housing for leaks before entering the water (pump not included, sold separately). The specially designed ABS-PC material is extremely durable yet significantly lighter than aluminum. Its light color helps keep the camera cooler when shooting in sunny, warm conditions.

Which lenses can be used with this underwater housing?

Ikelite lens ports are lightweight yet durable, even in rough conditions. The housing supports a wide variety of lenses, including popular zoom lenses. Simple gears make it easy to adjust zoom and focus, with specific gears for each lens. Lens ports and zoom gears are sold separately. Check the port chart to see which port, zoom gears, etc., you need for the lens you wish to use. Once you know the part numbers for the port, zoom gears, and other accessories, you can find them on the website by entering the number in the search bar of our online store.

Wi-Fi transfer

Use the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi to download photos to another device without removing the camera from the housing. Keep in mind, the Wi-Fi function only works above water and when the device is close by.

What fits inside this underwater housing?

Unless otherwise noted, this housing cannot be used with additional grips, battery grips, viewfinders, LCD covers, or other accessories attached to the camera. Only the Sony a9 III fits in this housing. Due to the specific placement of the buttons designed for this camera, other camera models will not fit inside this housing.
