This charger can charge 2 or 4 batteries at the same time. Charging 1 or 3 batteries does not work properly.
The batteries supplied are rechargeable Panasonic Eneloop AA (BK-3MCCE) Ni-MH batteries with a capacity of 2000mAh (typical), 1900mAh (minimum). These batteries can be charged 2100 times without any problems.
