Center Light Distribution for Both Wide and Spot Lighting

The light source uses COB (LED), known for its even light distribution. SEA&SEA's unique design shapes the COB into a doughnut form, placing the wide light source in the outer ring and the spot LEDs at the center. This arrangement ensures that both wide and spot lighting are aligned to the center of the emitting surface, delivering optimal lighting in every situation.

What is the New "COB"?

COB is a type of LED technology. "COB" stands for "Chip on Board," which involves placing multiple LED chips directly onto a board. With these concentrated LED chips, high brightness is achieved, and because the light is emitted from a surface, large areas can be evenly illuminated. SEA&SEA is the first in Japan to arrange the COB in a doughnut shape, reducing shadows in the center even with wide light, ensuring uniform illumination.

Eliminating "Multi-Shadows"

COB lighting eliminates "multi-shadowing" in both wide and spot modes. This produces natural shadows, which clearly and sharply define subjects, making it an ideal choice for photography.

What is Multi-Shadowing?

Multi-shadowing occurs with LED lighting when multiple light-emitting chips create unnatural overlapping shadows, unlike the shadows produced by sunlight. These multiple shadows can blur an object’s outline, reducing visibility. A single light source COB prevents this, providing clean, shadow-free lighting.

Light Intensity Adjustment Features

- Step Dimming: Adjust light intensity in four steps (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) with a simple press of the power button.
  
- Stepless Dimming: Adjust light intensity from 0% to 100% with precise 1% increments, using left and right dimming buttons. The digital percentage display allows for fine-tuning and ensures control over the lighting.

- Memory Function: Especially useful for videography, this function remembers the previous light intensity setting when the light is turned off and restores it when turned back on.

Flash Sensor for Still Photography

The built-in flash sensor detects strobe light, automatically turning off the light, and then turns it back on one second later. This prevents any interference from the lighting during photography. The spotlight serves as a focus light, and the wide light can be used to find subjects or assess the environment without uneven exposure or color distortion.

Compact Design for Easy Handling

The light's spot source is positioned in the center of the doughnut-shaped wide light, minimizing the light head size. With a compact design that fits in your hand and an underwater weight of just 163g, it’s easy to use and maneuver.

User-Friendly Color LCD Display

A highly visible color LCD panel displays various functions, including light intensity and available lighting time—both critical underwater. Light intensity is shown in 1% increments, and real-time remaining lighting time is displayed.

Mode Icons for Function Display

Colored icons on the display show the active mode:
- Spot: Illuminates when the spotlight is on.
- Wide: Illuminates when wide light is in use.
- Battery: Flashes in safety mode.
- FS mode: Illuminates when the flash sensor mode is active.
- Remote control: Illuminates when in remote control mode.

Four Troubleshooting Functions

- Safety Mode: The battery indicator flashes, displaying "10min" and counting down. If the light head exceeds 55°C (131°F), the light intensity automatically drops to 20%.
- Blinking Signal Mode: Displays "BLI" and signals with three short and three long blinks before turning off.

Dual Battery Charging Options

Despite its compact size, the 3400 mAh Li-ion battery offers two charging options:
1. Direct Charging: Connect the dedicated rear charge plug to the magnetic terminal on the back of the body for easy charging without removing the battery, reducing the risk of water exposure.
2. Removable Charging: The battery can be removed for recharging, making it easy to swap with a spare battery, ensuring uninterrupted usage.

Upgradeable Lighthead for More Power

You can upgrade the LX series light head to models with higher luminous flux. For example, swap the LX-2400SW FS head for the LX-4000SW FS head to upgrade from 2400 lumens to 4000 lumens. After changing the light head, refer to the manual for setup details.
